I had a pleasant one-night stay at City Hotel Ring. The location is fantastic, right near the Nyugati train station, making it easy to explore the city. The cleanliness of my room was commendable, though I did notice some spider webs on the ceiling. The shower could use some improvement to prevent water from leaking onto the floor. Overall, I felt I received good value for the price paid.

Rooms

My room was clean, but the ceiling had some spider webs. Additionally, the shower design allowed water to spill onto the bathroom floor.
Service

The girl at the reception was helpful, guiding me to a great dinner spot.
Location

The hotel is conveniently located for walking to downtown and has easy access to public transportation. Plus, there are bars and restaurants nearby.
Dining

While the nearby breakfast options were satisfactory, there could be more variety to enhance the experience.

Housekeeping was effective, ensuring the room was clean upon returning from my excursions.

7.2/10

I had a mixed experience at City Hotel Ring in Budapest. While the location was super central and my room was clean with comfy beds, the lack of an elevator and poorly functioning air conditioning were major drawbacks. The breakfast wasn't great either, but the staff was friendly enough.

Rooms
6.0
My room was clean and reasonably sized, but it felt a bit dark since I was facing the back courtyard. There was a fridge and a TV, but I found the wardrobe situation confusing. Overall, it was adequate for my needs, but definitely could use some updates.
Service
5.0
Although the reception staff were nice, I found the service could have been better overall. For instance, there was no lift, and I ended up carrying my heavy bags up multiple flights of stairs with no assistance. Also, there were moments when they seemed a bit unhelpful, especially regarding my issues with the air conditioning.
Location
8.0
The hotel is in a great spot—walking distance to major attractions and close to the Nyugati Railway Station made it super convenient for my travels. I enjoyed being able to explore the area easily.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was pretty disappointing. While I appreciated the fresh pastries, the variety was limited, and I preferred to grab my morning bite at a nearby bakery instead. I think the breakfast setup needs some serious improvement.
Facilities
5.0
The lack of an elevator really impacted my stay, especially with heavy luggage. The air conditioning was also a letdown, and I found out it was broken for the entire hotel. On the upside, I felt safe with the hotel's security measures.

6.8/10

I had a mixed experience at City Hotel Ring. The location was fantastic, providing easy access to transportation and attractions, but I encountered several issues during my stay. The cleanliness was commendable, yet the lack of air conditioning and uncomfortable sleeping arrangements marred the comfort of my room.

Rooms
6.0
My room was tidy and had a nice bathroom, though the sofa bed was quite low and uncomfortable. Also, I noticed a lack of basic amenities like a kettle, making it difficult to enjoy a simple cup of tea before bed.
Service
7.0
The reception staff, particularly the middle-aged woman, was friendly and accommodating, but I found the need to leave my room key at the front desk every time I went out a bit concerning.
Location
9.0
The hotel is centrally located near Nyugati and makes it easy to explore the city via trams and buses, which I really appreciated during my stay.
Dining
5.0
I wasn't impressed with the breakfast options, as it seemed very basic and repetitive over the days, and I found better pastries in local bakeries right outside.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel lacks an elevator to access the upper floors, which could be a downside for those with heavy luggage. The lack of a safe in the room also made me uneasy about my valuables.

6.8/10

My stay at City Hotel Ring was a mix of pleasant surprises and a few downsides. The room was spacious and clean, which made a good impression. However, I found the lack of an elevator a bit challenging, especially with heavy luggage. The location was fantastic, close to key attractions, making it easy to explore Budapest. Overall, it fit my needs for a short stay, but there were some issues that could be improved.

Rooms
6.0
The room was adequately sized and very clean, with a nice bathroom. I appreciated the high ceilings and windows, making it feel airy. However, I had some trouble due to the shower flooding a bit because of its design, and there was no proper shower handle, which made things awkward.
Service
8.0
The reception staff were friendly, but it was inconvenient that I had to hand my key in each time I left. On the positive side, George at the front desk was a gem, providing loads of helpful information about the city and being genuinely friendly.
Location
9.0
The hotel is in a prime location, just a short walk from major attractions. It’s also right next to the Nyugati train station, which made traveling around the city super convenient. I loved being able to quickly access public transport for my outings.
Dining
5.0
While I found the breakfast options quite basic and somewhat plain, I preferred the local bakeries nearby that had fresh pastries each morning. Definitely worth checking out instead of the hotel breakfast.
Facilities
6.0
The lack of a lift was a significant downside, especially when climbing four flights of stairs with luggage. Also, heating was an issue; it was quite warm outside, but the hotel was still cranking up the heat. However, the housekeeping was thorough, and I appreciated the cleanliness of my room.

I had an overall decent stay at City Hotel Ring. The location was really convenient, allowing me to explore Budapest easily, but I didn’t love the lack of an elevator and having to lug my bags up four flights of stairs. The room was clean and comfortable enough for a short stay, though I faced a few minor issues with the shower and breakfast setup.

Rooms
6.0
My room was a good size and very clean, but the shower leaked a lot and the setup was a bit inconvenient.
Service
7.0
The staff was pretty friendly, but I could’ve done without having to leave my key at the front desk every time.
Location
8.0
The hotel’s location was great for accessing key tourist spots, though it was a bit of a trek to get to some of them.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast wasn’t fantastic, and I recommend checking out nearby bakeries instead for fresh pastries.
Facilities
6.0
I appreciated the air conditioning during the hot weather, but the absence of an elevator made getting to my room quite the workout.
